Adult Fellowship + Mission Group
Our two UCAF (Uniting Church Adult Fellowship) Groups have recently combined with the Mission Group to combine afternoon tea and a chat alongside hearing guest speakers and raising money for charity organisations both outside and within the Uniting Church – speakers have been welcomed from Chelsea Careworks, Wesley Mission, Scouts, an author from the local historical society and a former military nurse, to name a few. Each year additional funds are raised through the annual walk-a-thon and ‘Mission Sunday’ service.
WAM Walks – (Walk And Meditation)
Come along and discover the extraordinary in the ordinary while strolling through the local area. Departing from the Aspendale Gardens Shopping Centre every second Tuesday Morning, followed by a coffee and a chat (just in case there isn’t enough chatting during the walk). Both a social group and a casual form of worship.
Book Club
Book Club runs on Monday night every couple of months. Some of the books we have discussed include ‘Burial Rites’, ‘Jasper Jones’, ‘The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks’, ‘The Shack’, ‘The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’ and ‘The Rosie Project’ (everyone’s favourite!). A book swap is located outside Chelsea church (under the eaves) if you’re short of something to read. We have also recently started having a ‘film night’ on the month in between book club meetings.
